Our family lives on a houseboat (a 39m barge) in Metz, a beautiful town located in the East of France. Gabriel is a professional musician and he has 2 daugthers : Marcia (16) and Lou (14) Claire is a manager for Puppet companies. We are going to have a baby in January 2015 :-) Looking for a romantic night or an unusual stopover on a boat? L’Aparté is located on la Péniche ORPHÉE (silver grey boat with red canvases) on the Moselle Canal, just 3 km from the centre of Metz. L’Aparté used to be the Captain’s cabin when the boat was still navigating and was then arranged in accordance with the original furnishings (especially made out of wood). It is a 20 m2 heated cabin, with its private entrance and terrace, composed of a cozy living room equipped with a kitchenette and a radio/CD player, a double-bed room and a private bathroom (equipped with a hairdryer and a shower). Guests can prepare their own meals and breakfasts in the kitchenette, which is equipped with a microwave, a cooking hob, a fridge and kitchenware. A coffee machine is also provided. We will provide freely everything necessary for the first breakfast. A free public parking is available 600 meters before the Péniche. Then you have to walk the path and it’s the 6th péniche! L’Aparté is 15 min walk to the Train Station (5 min by car) Town center is only 15 min walk through a very pleasant path (near the water). Centre Pompidou-Metz is 15 min walk (5 mn by car) Musée de la Cour d’Or is 20 min walk (7 mn by car) Activities in the area include ice skating, walking, cycling and shopping.
