Furniture stores in Milan

Milan is the fashion capital of Italy. Because of this, you’ll find that the cost of living in Milan is pretty high. We’ve found some of Milan's more affordable furniture options to help you furnish your new home without breaking the bank.

  1. Mondo Convenienza

Mondo Convenienza is a family-run business with plenty of expert assistants to help you find what you want. Their huge furniture stores with reasonable prices and plenty of stock are located outside the centre of Milan. They’ve got a showroom in Via Antonio Cechov and a store in Via della Liberazione, both offering delivery.

If you prefer to shop online, they have an online catalogue where you can shop for their products. They frequently have promotions online, so check out their website.

They don’t sell home décor, but their furniture prices are very accessible, ranging from €58–€1,690. You can also arrange for them to assemble your furniture. The cost of this service is 14% of the cost of your order, but it might be worthwhile to avoid the hassle of DIY!

  1. Maisons du Monde

This popular store provides plenty of furniture and décor products at a reasonable price. There’re 2 stores in Milan — in Corsos Buenos Aires and Via Lambretta — and an excellent online store. They even have interior designers who’ll help you style your new home from €99. Their delivery costs range from €7–€120 depending on the cost of your order. Orders over €1,800 have free delivery, so if you have much to buy, you can save on delivery. They frequently have online promotions, so watch for them online.

Their prices vary from as little as €6 to €2,700. But they have plenty of affordable and high-quality furniture to choose from. They don’t have a lot of décors to choose from, but what’s there is homely and pretty cheap. You can also buy outdoor furniture if you have a terrace or balcony to decorate.

Top tip: There’re some excellent examples of studio and apartment décor on their website if you need some inspiration for free.

  1. Ricci Casa

With plenty of affordable furniture and year-round promotions, plenty of expats choose Ricci Casa to furnish their new places. This store provides customisation and modification to ensure that whatever you purchase fits your home perfectly. They give a gift with orders over €1,000 and provide free transportation and assembly for orders over €1,500. If you plan on staying put in your new place for a long time, you can pay for your order with a 0% interest installment plan.

Their prices vary from €45 to €4,155 and they regularly have promotions both in-store and online. Unfortunately, you can’t buy their products immediately online, you can only inquire or shop in-store. You can still browse their selection and prices online—they even have a catalogue.

In any case, it’s nice to check out their store in Via Marchesi to see their products in person and get an idea of what you want your new home to look like.

Second-hand furniture in Milan

Milan has plenty of high-end vintage stores, some of which have a hefty price tag. To help you find more affordable preloved options, here’re some of our favourite secondhand stores in Milan.

  1. Mercatino sulla Rotonda

Via Padova, 41, 20127 Milan MI, Italy

Italian Mercatino’s (flea markets) are a popular choice for expats when furnishing their homes. Mercatino sulla Rotonda doesn’t offer online shopping, but they have plenty of affordable, quirky secondhand furniture and art in-store. The market is open every day but Sunday and is nicely organised and laid out. Shopping in flea markets can often be laborious, so an organised market makes your shopping experience easy.

  1. Mercatino Franchising Milano

Viale Certosa, 314, 20156 Milano MI, Italy

This market is part of the Mercatino Franchising chain and has excellent online and in-person stores. They have a vast selection of furniture and décor at affordable prices. Their website offers exclusive online promotions. It's best to visit the store for larger pieces of furniture as they often sell out before being listed on the website. This mercatino is well laid out and easily navigated. The friendly staff will help you find what you need. Their prices online start low at just €12.

  1. In and out

Via Castrovillari, 25, 20141 Milano MI, Italy

Another private mercatino, In and Out has a vast selection of products, from vases to large appliances. Their online website only shows a limited collection of their products. So it’s best to head into their store. You can, of course, enquire online if you’re looking for something specific.

Prices here are very reasonable, starting at just €7. It’s worth mentioning that this mercatino isn’t the most organised and will take time and energy to find what you’re looking for.

Remember that buying secondhand appliances might drive utility costs up if the appliance is old.

  1. Orissa

Via Tortona, 36, 20144 Milano MI, Italy

While Orissa isn’t the cheapest option on this list, it offers a vast range of unique secondhand furniture. They primarily sell colonial furniture from Southeast Asia and provide customisation services for their products. They take pride in restoring unique pieces of older furniture and creating one-of-a-kind pieces for their customers. Their prices range from €25–€2,000, but the higher-end products are rare designer items. You can buy their products online or check out their showroom in Via Tortona.

Homeware

Once you’ve bought your new (or old) furniture and furnished your home, it’s time to decorate! To help you make your new house a home, here’re some of Milan’s best homeware stores. 1. Casa

Casa is a home goods store with both online and in-person shopping. They’re well known for their affordable and beautiful décor pieces and garden furniture. 1. Upim Upim is the place to go for your bedding and other home textiles. They offer a wide range of products both in-store and online. They also sell utensils, decor, and clothing and often have sales online.

Top tip: Milan has plenty of excellent public transport options if you prefer to shop in person and avoid expensive delivery costs.

Your one-stop shop for furniture and décor: IKEA

Given its affordability, selection, and familiar shopping experience, it's no surprise that IKEA is a go-to choice for many expats. You can shop at one of the city’s large warehouse-style stores or use their online shopping. Their delivery rates start at €5 and vary based on the distance and weight of your order. Alternatively, you can order online and choose to pick up your items in-store or at a nearby depot.

Now that you know where to go, it’s time to get a move on decorating your new Milano home! Then you can relax and explore all that Milan has to offer.
